Started in January with a total investment of more than 5,000 billion VND by budget capital, expected to be completed in 2023.
This project is 6.6 km long, located 350 m from My Thuan Bridge upstream of Tien River, of which the main bridge is 1,906 m long, 25 m wide for 6 lanes of traffic, the rest is the aisle. two ends of the bridge. The bridge is designed at a speed of 100 km / h, synchronized with the Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho highway. On the route there are also 4 small bridges and 2 large intersections.
My Thuan 2 Bridge is part of the Ho Chi Minh City-Can Tho highway of the North-South Expressway, playing an important role in increasing traffic capacity through the Tien River and linking Ho Chi Minh City - the US Thuan and My Thuan - Can Tho 150km long.
Expressway My Thuan - Can Tho
Phase 1 is implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), a type of BOT contract, with a length of about 23 km, mainly located in Vinh Long province and part of Chau Thanh district (Dong Thap province). . The first point is connected to My Thuan 2 bridge and the last point is at Cha Va intersection of Binh Minh town (Vinh Long province), connected to Can Tho bridge.
Phase 1 of the project is invested with 4 lanes, 17 m wide road, design speed of 100 km / h. The total project investment is VND 4,919 billion.
The project will start in 2020 and be completed in 2023, along with My Thuan 2 Bridge.
Improve the North-South railway infrastructure
The North - South national railway has been degraded for many years. Many railway sections, railway stations, bridges and tunnels need to be repaired and reinforced to improve traffic safety and speed train.
In 2018, the National Assembly approved investment and renovation of North-South railway infrastructure with VND 7,000 billion, from the reserve fund for public investment in the 2016-2020 period.
North - South railway infrastructure is renovated and upgraded according to 4 component projects, including: essential works in Hanoi - Vinh section, total investment of VND 1,400 billion; railway infrastructure of Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City section, total investment of 1,850 billion dong; reinforcing weak bridges and anti-collision pillars on Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, total investment of 1,950 billion dong; strengthening weak tunnels in combination with opening new stations and improving the architecture of upper floors in Vinh - Nha Trang section, with a total investment of VND 1,800 billion.
The Ministry of Transport is carrying out investment and bidding procedures so that projects can be started in 2020 and expected to be completed in 2021.
